Janis Joplin Tunic

June 14, 2012

One of the more interesting things we have ever framed was this tunic worn by Janis Joplin in the 1968 Texas Jam Tour. The customer told us she purchased it from Dick Clark’s memorabilia collection. When we received it, the garment was barely hanging in a very damaged old frame. We spent hours sewing it in place and even used a tiny vacuum to remove years of debris (and some bugs) from the fringed areas. We were surprised at the tiny size of the garment! Our client was very pleased with the end result.
