A Tribute to the 1991 Twins Greats
August 25, 2020
Mark came into the shop hoping to put together a great Father’s Day gift for his dad, a big Twins fan. Mark is a Minnesota guy, having played high school, junior and college hockey at Iowa and so is his Dad. We’ve done work for Mark before but he’s been working in Hollywood for awhile. He was sent home with the Covid-19 shutdown of all Hollywood production early this year and took the opportunity to come visit us at Frame Minnesota.
Mark was a little kid in 1991 when the Twins went to the Series and hung on to these prints since then. He acquired batting gloves from Chili Davis and Kirby Puckett but could never find a Kent Hrbek. He finally gave up and decided to frame it for Dad in time for Father’s Day. We incorporated a couple of Twins logos that we cut in the shop with our Wizard 9000z mat cutter. The video does not do these justice–They are 3D artist interpretations of the logos and a pretty cool addition to any sports project.
Watch our Video and You’ll Learn:
- We can help you design a frame for just about any sports project.
- We love to add little special touches that are unique–an embellishment to a mat, a little lapel pin, a coin and the like.
- We can cut 3D artist designed logos to complete your sports project.
Here is the transcript of the Video:
Tami: Hi, it’s Tami from Frame Minnesota, and we’ve framed lots of different sports memorabilia and all sorts of art. Today, we are here to tell you about a project that we did for Mark. I’ll let him… turn it over to Mark.
Mark Huber: Hi everyone, my name is Mark Huber. I’m from Dodge Center, Minnesota. I always struggle to find something to buy my dad for his birthday or Father’s Day. And as you can see, we’ve had these in our family for many years. It’s a game-worn Chili Davis baseball glove and a game-worn Kirby Puckett batting glove.
These were given to my family in ’91 and I mean, I’ve worn them several times. This was Kirby Puckett’s or Chili Davis’s and they’ve been sitting in my dad’s toolbox for the better part of 30 years now. So I thought what better gift than to get them framed and have some memorabilia in our man cave.
Tami: Hey, that sounds great. And I know dad likes them because he’s here in the background and it’s certainly better than another coffee mug, right dad?
Speaker 3: That’s right. It’s been great.
Tami: Great. Tami with Frame Minnesota in Eagan, we’re your source for sports memorabilia framing in the Twin Cities. Thank you.
