“Framing is about trust!

Professional Background: Owning a frame company allows me to combine craftsmanship, service, and business discipline in a tangible way. I’ve spent much of my career in marketing, sales leadership and market development – building relationships, listening carefully, launching products and growing businesses. What I learned through all that is simple: people value clarity, follow-through, and feeling heard. That’s exactly how I approach framing.

Why I Love Framing: These values and my mindset started long before I entered the business world. As an Eagle scout, I learned early on that details matter and integrity isn’t optional – That mindset carries into every piece we design and build. A frame should not only look beautiful – it should protect what’s inside for years to come.

My Favorite Place: Our cabin and my fishing boat.

Design Style Preference: I’ve always loved sports – especially hockey – and I understand the pride behind memorabilia. A signed puck, a championship photo, a jersey earned through hard work – these pieces represent connection, identity, and shared moments. Framing allows us to archive that pride. It takes something tucked away and gives it a place of honor.

What I Frame in My Home: Whatever Angela wants! Except in the basement that is where my sports memorabilia lives on full display.

“Framing is about making your heart smile”

Professional Background: My professional journey has always blended discipline and heart. I spent ten years in accounting within mental health services and senior care, where I developed a deep respect for financial stewardship, operational excellence, and the structure behind high-quality organizations.

I then built a more than twenty-year career as a registered nurse and healthcare leader—guiding teams, strengthening systems, and leading initiatives designed to improve outcomes and elevate the human experience of care. My work centered on preserving dignity, supporting families, and ensuring quality at every stage of life.

Whether building healthcare systems or thoughtfully designing a frame, my work has always centered on preserving what matters—executed with intention, care, and excellence.

Why I Love Framing: I believe art is anything that makes your heart sing when you look at it. I learned that from my mother who loved surrounding herself with beautifully framed keepsakes and a father who encouraged entrepreneurship. Bringing those influences together at Frame Company Minnesota feels both meaningful and right.

My Favorite Place: Our cabin, a timeless escape that holds memories. I especially love evenings around a campfire, sharing long conversations with people that matter most.

What I Frame in My Own Space: In my own home, you’ll find framed family photographs, handwritten notes, and artwork that marks important chapters. I believe what we choose to frame reflects what we value—and that our stories deserve walls, not closets.

“Framing is an extension of the art that it surrounds, and should be equally captivating”

Professional Background: I learned how to build frames from my grandpa Gene. Over the years I have learned wood burning, painting, wood carving, gold/silver leafing, and other ways to customize frames. In 2020, I began Hennepin Technical College’s cabinetry and furniture building program. I completed my second associates degree in 2022. I also have a degree in early childhood education and family studies.

Why I Love Framing: Part of the reason I love framing is that I enjoy collecting art and am passionate about building unique frames to hang on my walls. I truly believe that I’ve found my calling in the world of picture framing. I love to be creative, and I love to talk about art and design with my friends, and with the customers that come into the frame shop. As I am excited about my art, it brings me joy to work with people who are excited to frame their art, memorabilia, etc..

My Favorite Place: My favorite place – Missoula, Montana, and surrounding area.

Design Style Preference: I love working with colorful artwork, and I enjoy brightly colored frames and vivid mat colors. I enjoy working with customers who are open to fun, and playful designs that bring a smile to their face.

What I Frame in My Own Home: Much of my collection is art prints from European and Asian street artists/muralists/Graffiti. I also enjoy art that contains animals, and skeletons. I also collect and display pins, toys, figures, stickers, and other interesting objects.

“Photographers going through life”

Professional Background: I’ve spent more than 37 years in the picture framing industry, and I still love the moment when a design comes together perfectly. Throughout my career, I’ve built and led framing departments for retailers including JoAnn and Michaels, and worked with Calhoun Framing. I’ve always enjoyed setting up operations that value workflow efficiency, craftsmanship, and consistent excellence.

Career Highlights: Some highlights of my framing career include framing an original watercolor for Stevie Nicks, an original piece by Janis Joplin for a customer, and historically signed documents by both Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Moments like those remind me how important preservation truly is. I’m a Massachusetts native, a graduate of the New England School of Photography, and someone who is always learning. Photography has given me a unique way of seeing — noticing light, balance, proportion, and the details others might miss.

Best Advice: Before framing, I worked in high-volume kitchens, including Eddie Webster’s, where I thrived in a fast-paced environment that demanded consistency. One lesson always stayed with me: you can’t go back from overcooking a steak. In both cooking and framing, there are no shortcuts. Quality isn’t optional — it’s expected.

What I Do in My Free Time: In my free time, I enjoy photography, biking, spending time up north with friends, and keeping a steady soundtrack playing in the background. I’m always open to learning something new.
